GAME DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT
F1 2016 MOBILE

F1 2016 is an extraordinary experience. It’s so immersive, we half-wondered why weren’t conducting TV interviews after each race. As we roared around the globe contesting the Drivers’ Championship, the official licensing made it all stunningly realistic, but the real star was the controls. The subtle tilt-to-turn handles perfectly, and the surge of acceleration is beyond satisfying.

- iOS App Store Feature Review
F1 2016 mobile is my first title as designer at Exient. I worked the full development cycle as a Technical Designer, mainly focused in physics, handling and controls. But I did as well some work in the game structure and flow, and lots of wireframing.

It has been a very exciting and challenging project, where we tried to bring accessible mobile-friendly controls, at the same time trying to keep the simulation aspect of the console game.
The game was completely re-engineered in a proprietary engine, and its visuals and handling model got it to be showcased during the iPhone 7 keynote before release, and to be full-page featured in the app store where even now still stands out as one of the best mobile racing simulation games.
